WHAT ARE THE PARTICIPATORY VIDEO OSCAR AWARDS?
The Participatory Video Oscar Awards is a 3-day meeting of the SAIPs who have been producing videos for the past months. The most outstanding videos will be rewarded with an Oscar award. During the 3-day meeting the SAIPs will also share experiences, discuss how to link the video’s with their M&E system and talk about the making Participatory Video sustainable.
WHO IS PARTICIPATING?
Fourteen SAIPs took part in the Participatory Video Trainings in December and in February. A team of experts has chosen the best five teams and asked them to prepare a presentation during the 3-day training.
WHERE CAN I SEE THE VIDEOS?
The videos showing interviews, conversations and practices among different Social Accountability stakeholders from community groups, service providers, woreda officials, Social Accountability committee members and others can be viewed on
WHO DECIDES THE WINNER?
A jury made up of Social Accountability and video experts will decide who receives an award based on the following criteria: creativity of the video, ability to engage citizens in community dialogue through social media and a strong Social Accountability message.
WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?
1stprize: a video camera with microphone, a tripod and editing software
2nd prize: a tripod and editing software
3rd prize: editing software
HOW CAN I BE PART OF THE NEXT PARTICIPOTRY VIDEO TRAINING?
